Live in Indianapolis?

My wife and I will be moving to the Indianapolis, Indiana area in the coming months.

I'm looking for a little help/advice:

We are moving from c. 1,000 miles away and neither one of us know anyone living there that could point us in the right direction.

So...

Is there anyone out there in the Indianapolis, Indiana are that would be willing to candidly answer some questions I have on neighborhoods, crime, cost of living, commute time, etc. via email?

Stay away from the west side of town on Memorial Day weekend! Seriously... I'm near Evansville... about 2 1/2 hours south of Indy.
