Alright, this one could get me in trouble with my pastor for what I am thinking.
But am not suprised when I saw it was a story from Washington State.

This is a touchy subject for a lot of people. I am a PROUD veteran. I am ridiculously patriotic. I strongly believe in the United States, democracy, and the American Dream.
However, I completely disagree with our current policies, especially the idea of a preemptive strike. In short, my political views differ from those of our commander in chief.
My beliefs aside, Memorial Day is not about politics. It is not about whether or not any war was right. It is about honoring those who gave of themselves selflessly. I may not agree with the fight. But I honor the warrior doing his (or her) job.
On this memorial day, I salute all of our soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors . Thank you for giving me the freedom to disagree with our leaders and thank you for your sacrifices.

As a veteran of the U.S. Army, and moreover, as a proud American citizen, it disgusts me. I guarantee you wouldn't see it here!

As a lifelong resident of Washington State and a student of Washington's history, I gotta ask you:
Why is that? Please explain yourself and please include historical references to support your explanation.
This should be good.
