Max Users Challenge 2007: July 7, 2007 !!

From the TubeNet main page:
"Most users ever online was 147 on Sat Dec 10, 2005 7:45 am"
Isn't this just begging for an annual contest?
Please post your suggestions for the day and time to log in for about 5 minutes:
[changed to 7.7.07 based on a good suggestion:]
I'll suggest July 7, 2007 at:
11 AM, Eastern Daylight time
Which would be:
10 AM, Central
9 AM, Mountain
8 AM, Pacific
11 AM +/- a couple of hours in S. America / Central America / Mexico
Somewhere between 3-6 PM for our European members (please determine your local time)
11 PM Singapore time
Midnight July 7/8 Tokyo time (don't know how many will join from Asia -- perhaps one or two ...)
That's about the best I can do. Other ideas?
Thanks,
Max Users

If not 7/4, then a Saturday would probably be better, I would think. Such as 7/7 ....
Awaiting consensus ......

Those max user numbers on the PHP BBS systems tend to be at times when Google bots are crawling the site. In all likelihood, there aren't than many real human users on the board at any one time. Especially at 7:45 in the morning.

Based on Greg's good suggestion about some musicians providing American patriotic (or other) music on July 4th, I will change the proposed date to Saturday, July 7th, same time(s):
July 7, 2007 at:
11 AM, Eastern Daylight time
Which would be:
10 AM, Central
9 AM, Mountain
8 AM, Pacific
11 AM +/- a couple of hours in S. America / Central America / Mexico

11 PM Singapore time
Midnight July 7/8 Tokyo time (don't know how many will join from Asia -- perhaps one or two ...)
I don't want to crash the server, but ... if you're around your computer at this time, try logging in for about 5 minutes. Check to see who's in the chat room. Monitor the number of users logged in. Can we beat 147?
Surely so!

No way I'm going to find a computer at eight-bloody-ayem on a Saturday morning. I'll be lucky if I manage to find my coffee cup by then...

For a tuba, this isn't an early Saturday, it's the ending of a properly observed Friday night!

So how does the BBS software figure out who's on and who's off? Do you actually need to read a post or is simply being logged in sufficient?

Well .... evidently lack of some last-minute PR doomed the fledgling effort. (my fault -- sorry)
Maybe next time -- at a "better time" ... tbd ... !
Cheers,
