What's up with your screen name?

OK, this is a silly topic. What does your screen name mean (to you)? Since I'm asking, I'll start. Wakin means "goldfish" in Japanese, and AZ is because I live in the last of the lower 48 states to join the U.S. (uh, Arizona). Unoriginal and unfunny and nothing to do with our beloved instrument - Because I am lazy, I just used the name I use on the online aquarium forums I visit when I'm not wasting your time here.

....... do I really need to explain mine ? Once a band nerd always a band nerd . I'm just not young anymore. Ok, at 45 I'm not really that old either but it sounds funny . It's even more funny when I tell people this is what I look like :

In the neighborhood where I grew up, there were five kids named Jeffrey. Because my last name is Benedict, I became "Ben", There wqas a rather loud mouthed guy three houses down who used to announce my presence by yelling "It's The Big Ben" so....

My screename was dubiously given to me after my first summer session with Pat Sheridan in AZ, by Pat himself. Everyone there is given a nickname of some sort, and since Cale is my middle name (and what I go by), he felt like Impaler worked pretty well.....

tubafatness is a name given to me by older brother Dan. When I started playing tuba, he was as well, so he gave me the name. Nothing too fancy about it.

Bop: My favorite genre of music is Ba'akan tribal chant (so lovably known to us as the pygmy tribe).

Euph: This means I'm a trombone player (secretly).

Mine was my first email address back in 1994 from a freenet. It's easy to remember.

Well I originally used "Jonathantuba", because my name is Jonathan - I know not very original. Then when I tried to change my email address I got locked out due to that problem with AOL which I believe Sean has now fixed.

Anyway, I then had to set up a new screename and by that time had got my big Mel Culbertson Neptune, so "Neptune" it became. I have come to prefer to my original choice, but am sorry I lost the 775 posts on the counter

Tuba - well duh,
Ryan - what finer name could I have used? (don't answer that)
12 - because 124 wouldn't fit on my original AOL screen name.

Mr. Originality!

A combination of tuba and euphonium. Because I play both equally as bad!

I picked this name before I discovered there was a Tubonium. Sounds like I copied, but I didn't.

Also I was first with Location: Location! Location!

As the principal tubist at Hayseed U., I resemble that remark.

This is fun so far, but I'm still waiting for iiipopes to chime in...

Back when I was playing tuba parts on bass trombone I couldn't find a log in that ebay would accept and kind of accidentaly fell into it. Never liked it much but didn't hate it enough to go to the trouble to change it. Now I'm too old to remember a new one.

I'm still cleaning diet coke off the screen. hilarity

Mine is a screenname from 8th grade. I worked at the local radio station ( a job my 6th grade choir director got me ) as a Disc Jockey, Weatherman, and Weekend News guy from 8th-12th grade.

I'm just too lazy to change it now. Disc Jockey Wes Pendergrass. It was our email addresses at the time. djwesp@ktloradio.com

Ditto.

Hands down, the funniest thing I've ever read on Tubenet. Well done, Bloke, Doc, Mark, and Elephant.
