Just got back from the doctor with some bad new. I was walking into our apartment the other night and tripped over a doormat. Caught my toes on a china hutch and landed on my knees.(OUCH!) When I got up the next morning I could barely stand up to go to the bathroom. One knee is suspect(will know more in a couple of days) but I did find out I broke a toe on my other foot. The other causualty in all this was my laptop, which went flying across the room. When I went to turn in on you can about guess what I did not see. Guess that's what happens when you get old.

A friend of mine had been carrying his old Besson euphonium (circa 1969) in its hard case for 30+ years. It was prety much immaculate.

On Christmas a few years ago, he received a brand new gig bag for his euph and began to carry it in the bag. About a month later, he tripped on a curb (it was night and raining) and fell flat on the horn.

The bell was never the same...
