Many beach venues that supported live music were erased by water, wind and sand. Musicians have been scrambling to find work to replace the formerly steady income sources.
A lot of new money is being invested in Alabama Gulf Coast building projects and our beach areas should come roaring back better than before if we are spared any major hurricanes for a year or so.
Pensacola, Florida suffered extreme damage in the 2005-2006 storms and is slower to revive than the Alabama coast. The military bases in West Florida are great resources for competent local musicians.
We pronounce it Guf Coast

I was noticing you still can't ride the Sunset Limited (Amtrak train) between New Orleans, Lousiana, and Pensacola, Florida. The tracks are still all out.
