Just thought I'd pass this along... I should have never complained about that 1 hour commute when I lived in Southern California.

Brian,
When were you in Vietnam? True, there isn't the problem with guns here, but there isn't the gun problem in most of America. And I grew up in Southern California--12 years ago, I taught at a public elementary school in East Los Angeles.
When did you last see traffic moving on the sidewalk?
Traffic lights and stop signs here are superfluous. Most people won't stop at a red light unless they can't go around another vehicle.
I never make comments about a place unless I have been there.
Driving in Saigon is more dangerous than driving in Tijuana. I haven't driven here but I have driven there and it seemed stupid, now that I think of it. I pay a motorcyclist about $12 a week to take me to work, social engagements, and shopping. With my (disabled) wife, I use a taxi. (And she recently broke her left foot, so she has even more trouble getting around!)
Somewhere I have a list of twenty laws of driving in Saigon, which I intend to post up here but I can't find them right now.
I have been here for almost one year now. In that time I count all the cars that I have seen here on four hands. No kidding. The motorcycles seemingly outnumber automobiles 1,000,000 to one.
So, when you see the movie, "Good Morning, Vietnam," which was filmed in Thailand, you see way, way, way too many cars. That's the biggest complaint the locals here have about it.
