The Ducks beat up on the Cougars last week as well:

The Duck mascot got suspended for that action.

I know the young man who is the mascot for the Cougars. This isn't really as funny as you may think.

He's probably still running around DC with green and yellow paint all over his body.

It was hilarious.
You would think that. Nevermind that there is an actual PERSON in there.

Again, Kettle vs. Black?
the elephant wrote:Did he tell you that he was hurt?
Doesn't matter. He could easily have been injured. In fact, when I was in middle school football, our mascot was attacked by the opposing team as they made their way to their bus. They thought it would be fun to kick the living $h!t out of HER. I guess she was fine after her broken ribs healed...I guess you're right, then. I should be laughing, shouldn't I?

Shame on ME for making statements about people I don't know.

You are an incredible role model for ethics.

I'm going to stand up for Wade here.
In my half of a century of life, I have known many people. I have known honest car salesman, ethical lawyers, loyal politicians, and dentists who didn't extract too many teeth because they could get more money out of the insurance companies (and in my home state, it's illegal to give body parts, including extracted teeth, back to the patient.)
I have known men who were the mascots of their universities. Some of them were absolute wallflowers. Once they put that uniform on, it was like some supernatural mask from Africa... They changed... They didn't seem responsible for their actions...
In the 1970s, I went to an unnamed university in the Southeast for a few terms... The mascot (a bird--that's all you need to know) would do the unmentionable with cheerleaders and other pretty girls during the games. You'd then see him a couple of hours after the game in the local pizza parlor quaffing down a big glass of milk with his plain cheese pizza slice, looking his usual quiet, nerdy self.
If he would have done the stuff he did on the field in the classroom or in the dorm, he would have definitely gotten kicked out of school. But because it was done in the name of football (and because the games were televised), it was no problem.
I'm with you, Wade. I have never met a male university mascot who felt responsible for his actions.

Let's face it: this is NOT a good year to be a fan of the Wolverines! But I think that even though their national title shot is about 95% over, they STILL have a chance for a BCS game. IF they can win the Big 10, then that's an automatic bid. Will they do it? More than likely not, but they sure can hope!

How about Texas, though? I thought for sure they were in trouble. Now THAT is the prime example of second-half adjustments!!

Ralph, I'm sorry-- but if Michigan gets into a BCS game after 2 beatdowns like this (one from, basically, a D2 school) there is something seriously wrong with the BCS selection process.
If Michigan were to turn it around and win the rest of their games in convincing fashion, then you might be able to make an argument for a second tier (still upper echelon) bowl. Obviously, if they win the Big 10 they will get a bid-- but that would really speak volumes about the strength (or lack thereof) of the Big 10 conference.
Oh, I don't disagree with you. There IS something wrong with the whole BCS process. Honestly, I don't see them getting past Ohio State. I know what I said was virtually impossible, but due to the whole setup of it, it IS possible. To me, just the fact that they DID lose to a lower division school should not allow them into a BCS game, period.

I agree with this totally. Michigan was stripped of their ranking (deserved), and should be excluded from any bowl bids. I bet Ohio fans are eating this up!!!

Hmmm... I would think that a confrontation between a wolverine and a duck would have had a somewhat different result...
