The manual simply says:

The Boss Dr 550 drum machine® is guarenteed not to change tempo, use a cell phone or sleep with your girlfriend.

If it's like most of the Boss drum machines, it only will do volunteer gigs if there are likely to be pretty female drum machines it can patch into, and if it's longer than 60 cycles, your pizza's free.

Well, HOW much can't you find?

Like the HomeRecording BBS

or
"Boss DR-550 Owner's Manual
If your manual has been lost or damaged, you can get a replacement from Kraft Music."

http://www.kraftmusic.com/catalog/acces ... rsmanuals/

Is it a MK I or MK II?

Here's a link for the DR-550 manual.
However, there is one small problem ...

(you have to check the box to get the file, but that isn't the problem)

On the other hand, if you click the link [DR-550_j.pdf] (1.5 MB)
and have enough time to use the google translator, go for it!
(it downloads a .pdf file)
