Probably because some bozo is liable to leave the safety off and wind up with a 7c lodged in his uvula.

However my big question is: Can you tune it with the sight adjuster (Hmmm...it's about two clicks sharp...)?

Lacquer vs Silver?
Rotory vs Piston?
3 valves vs 4?
Hollow point vs Full metal jacket?
30/06 vs 7.62mm?
How are the false tones?

Is it a bass bb gun or a contrabass bb gun?
No, silly. A bass would be an 'eb' gun...

Sure! What a savings to the battalion on a real bugle!
OK, what gives? -- The Enfield, as pointed out, is a .303.
The tip of a trumpet mouthpiece shank is .382 or thereabouts.
The tip of a cornet mouthpiece shank is .341 or thereabouts.
The tip of a flugel....
That would have to be one #@!! of a shot-out barrel, or possibly one of the .410 shotgun conversions?!

Maybe a soprano mouthpiece, which would go along with the short length...

Doesn't seem to hurt a brass cartridge much!
