To those who are down there: STAY SAFE!
(and toss in a viola if you get a chance!)

Drove up and saw the Santiago fire (arson) last night. My sister was under voluntary evacuation, as she lives up there right next to Whiting Ranch. It's burning away from us and up into the Cleveland National Forest. The areas hardest hit are the ones surrounded by chaparral or heavy forestation.
Spoke to a client in Fallbrook yesterday to make sure he was OK. He said he was, then took the phone away from his face and said, "Hey, shoot the hose over there - I still see some embers burning". Firefighters had just saved his sister's house (also in Fallbrook), and they were putting out any smoldery bits with their garden hoses. The San Diego fires are on track to exceed damage caused by the Cedar fire back in '03 (280,000 acres). That was the worst fire in recorded history here in California.
Most likely OK here, but I've got the tuba by the door ready to go, just in case!

It appears you have your priorities straight, anyway. I believe I can say we all wish you the best of luck.
