I have a beginning band tuba player who has suffered a head injury during the Thanksgiving season. Over the weekend of December 1, she was airlifted to Le Bohneur's Children's Hospital in Memphis because of a blood clot that got loose in her head. Surgery had to be performed, and she is still in the hospital as of today (12/10).

A number of us on tubenet have expressed their faith in the power that God has, through the use of prayer through His Son.

Without getting into religious discussions, I would ask those of you who are of like mind as I to pray for my student.

If you PM me, I will share the name of the student. I will also forward well wishes and other words of confirt to the family.

This topic (not surprisingly) comes up fairly often in the motorcycling world. No matter the trappings, the prayer that goes to the person goes to help the healing. So while my "flavor" is different than yours, my thoughts and intentions for healing are with your student.

Hear, hear on that one. I've always found it difficult to believe that we're all going to each other's Hell. Bottom line, you respect my faith, I'll respect yours.

Thanks for the response so far. Here is an update.........

I got to see my student Wednesday for about 10 minutes (12/12). She is eager to get back to school and play tuba, but is sufffering from endurance and balance issues. She will be home bound until the middle of March.

To update the situation, she fell at home and hit her head on a dresser corner. She started suffering headaches around Thanksgiving, and was not getting relief by the usual means. On the weekend of December 1, the pain was so bad that she was hospitalized, where doctyors discovered a hemorage on the brain.

She was airlifted to Le Bohneur's in Memphis, where they discovered a spleen injury and a low platelet count. As such, the bleeding on the brain would not stop.

She ended up having her spleen removed as well as having the brain surgery to repair the hemorage area.

Our band parent organization is sponsoring a supper to raise funds for the family, as well as area churches giving assistance. Keep her in your prayers please.

There are believers here in Vietnam who are also praying for her.
