I'm interviewing for a job out in Vernon Hills, Illinois. I know nothing about that town other than it's north of Chicago. Anyone from there or lived there before? Help? Thanks!

Vernon Hills is a mainly residential northern suburb of Chicago located in southern Lake County along I-94, the main interstate route between Chicago and Milwaukee. The current population is estimated to be about 25,000. Most residents are in the upper middle class economic bracket and the local schools are well regarded. A lot of the real estate is taken up by the Westfield Hawthorne Shopping Center. Average housing is about $300K. I have some friends who live up there and my impression is that this is your typical suburban bedroom community. Downtown Chicago is about a 25 minute good-traffic drive.
