I want to Thank everyone for their input on the first question. Through much discussion with you, my friend, and family members I hae decided to look at the 80 gig Ipod. This decision was pretty much made when my friend, John Clare, told me he fit all of Mahlers symphonies on 1 gig.
My questionis this: How hard is it to transfer existing cd's onto the thing? Should I find a savvy teenager to do it for me?
TIA,
Chuck

iTunes can do it for you pretty easily. You can do it yourself. Are you doing the video iPod or just the classic?

Taking CD's, putting them on your computer and syncing them to an iPod really isn't as hard as it sounds. If you want to, find yourself a savvy teenager who has an iPod to show you how to do it.

it's quite simple. if and when you start using the latest version of iTunes (available for free on the site), when you insert a CD it automatically puts in the titles/mvts, artist(s), album and downloads album artwork (if available) so when you play on your ipod the album shows up. once it's done "ripping" to your computer all you have to do is highlight the music you want and drag it onto the device located on the left side tab menu. apple made it pretty user friendly. Congrats on the 80 gig btw. i just bought one after owning and fillilng up a 30 gig (with music only) and i couldn't be happier.
