We bought the NordicTrack AudioStrider 800 about 6 months ago from Sears. We bought a refurbished unit for a little over $500 and it is a great piece of equipment. There are many programs (weight loss, aerobic fitness, etc.) in addition to a built in fan to cool you off and a connection to use an MP3 player or some other music device.

My girlfriend and I use it daily and have had no problem. I would also recommend checking at Sears like we did for a basically brand new unit complete with a warranty.

I bought a Proform 925 for a little less than $500 about a year ago and love it. Believe it or not, I got the best price from Home Shopping Network. It has a bunch of programs, a fan and adjustable pedals from 12 to 18 inches. My wife, shorty, and I can now use the same machine. It also folds up and stores in a closet if we have guests. It is being discontinued for a newer model so there might be a deal out there somewhere.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Good luck wth your elliptical.

But remember hanging clothing on it does not count as using it ....... :D

If it did I could say I use mine everyday.....
