Hmmmm... I thought my coffee was unusually tangy this morning...

I know very much about Agent Orange. My feelings: It was not intentionally put out to hurt anyone. Several GIs suffered greatly by its effects, including Admiral Elmo Zumwalt's own son.

Anyone who tries to make anything bigger than the mistake it was is trying to dig up a dead horse.

And, unlike 95% of the Vietnamese, I am a coffee drinker, not a tea drinker. Most of what I drink is grown locally. You can go to many honest, respectable discount stores in the United States and purchase some good Vietnamese coffee for about a buck a bag. If it would make a person sick to drink it, they couldn't sell it in the United States.

I have been drinking Vietnamese coffee for over 15 months and I am fine.



By the way, this is a typical Vietnamese coffee maker. It's a metal cup with a basket that fits over a cup or a glass. Pour boiling hot water into the cup at the top and the water drips into the cup or glass below. I haven't seen any regular coffee pots since I've been here.

Also, I have worked with businesses in the past to import/export food to the United States. It's not the same as importing/exporting toys or tubas. With regards to food and drink, there are certain health standards which must be maintained. The products I dealt with were tested for purity and safety.

I think the civet already did that for you.

Actually, what's more disturbing than the coffee itself, is the notion that some guy watched a civet pooping and said to himself "I'll bet that would make great coffee!", and furthermore, he actually got other people to try it! ("No, really! It's good!)

If you see the way most street stall food is prepared, everything you buy in the street is tainted with some kind of defecation or guano...



Note the lack of canopies, awnings, etc.
