Chicken, bar-b-que pork, whatever. It doesn't matter. If you can't sit down and have a real meal with someone, the rest doesn't matter. It just won't happen.

If you can truly sit down and enjoy a good meal with another guy, you're going to at least get along, if not outrightly enjoy the playing and the rest of it.

I'd drive from here to there (and that's a long ways!) to meet, hear and have some sort of outdoor eating and drinking activity with Joe.
If there was some sort of JoeFest at Joe Acres this summer, I would make an effort to attend and, perhaps, drag another NW person along...

I don't know if I could afford to make the long trip that "Big Ben" is willing to do, but I know I would really like to get to meet Joe. I have a couple of friends who have, and claim he is a great guy. Considering who these friends are, I have great confidence we would get along very well.

Politically, you either agree or disagree with him. He is not tentative in his views. I happen to agree with him most of the time.

I've got the 250 gallon lp tank that has been cut, welded, and made into a smoker/pit that can cook all of the food needed in one setting. It sets on a wagon and is ready to drag over. If I get enough notice, I can come up with the wood for a good smoking and cooking.

I had lunch on two occasions with the other curmodgeonly Joe, Joe Baker, during my brief time in Knoxville. Joe Baker has probably been off TubeNet for two years now, but I am sure most of the TNFJ remembers him well.
Some day, I will make the pilgrimage to memfuss to meet the Bloke, but that will most likely have to wait until I need major horn surgery.

I have a friend that is trying to get rid of a couple o' emus. Maybe that could be lunch.
Or, maybe we could cook up some emos. It would be good for society.
No, elmos though. I hate polyfill!

I could borrow the water bottle rocket launcher from my son's cub scout pack. They all have a real blast (pun intended) on summer pack campouts with it.

bloke -- you have an air compressor to charge the thing, don't you?!

Well, I just happen to have access to a 300 gallon PET "carboy" that I think would make a dent...now to find a 200-300 gal. brewpot and a big enough jet burner...

Hmmmm.
