I'm I the only person who believes that I'm noticing this, or have others believed that they've observed that "old guys" (who are the most likely to shop for a new tuba - based on it weighing 4-or-so pounds less than the one that they currently own) are the most likely to drag along several extra pounds worth of playing-related accessories with them?

I hope to G-d that weight never becomes a deciding factor for me in selecting a tuba.......

(Of course, I know age and decline is inevitable, but I hope to stave it off for as long as possible! )

We saw Ringo and his All Star Band last night at Wolf Trap.

Great act(s)

Surprise of the night was the bass/guitar player from the Average White Band. Did a great Pick up the Pieces with a very capable sax player.

I just joined a brass band - the Smoky Mountain BB in Asheville, NC. It’s an hour drive and practices on the same night as the community band I have been in for 20 years, so I probably won’t be a full time member, but I have been wanting to play in one for a while and these guys are the closest one to home. They have a bunch of really good players. Looking forward to a new adventure.

For you all not from Baltimore, Bel Loc referred to the street intersection where it was located .. corner of Bel Air Road and Loch Raven Boulevard.

Actually, it was on the northeast corner of East Joppa Rd. and Loch Raven Blvd.

Try the Nautilus Diner on York Rd. south of Timonium Rd. Their food is better than the Bel-Loc's ever was.
