Oh yeah. Back in 'the day', I thought Candice Bergen was HOT! She's just another old lady now. :)

After a lot of searching, play testing, recording, and budgeting I finally have a new f tuba. A gold brass B&S symphonie from what must be the 70s. Completely overhauled at the factory in 2006. I now understand what all the fuss is about with the "carefully hand selected" symphonie F tubas. Anybody got a serial number reference for these horns? It's number is 997xx. If not ill call the factory on Friday.

Actually no. Many horns that I thought would be easy to find here are actually very challenging to find. I have yet to see an alexander f tuba for sale here that didn't have the 3+3 setup or the F/CC double setup. The older B&S horns are hard to find. Seems a lot of players play the newer PT10 here or the "selected edition" version here. It's funny living here many of the things I had heard in the states about German tuba players/playing tuba in Germany are just plain not true.

Testing done with unexpected results. The deepest mouthpiece liked the smallest I. D. rim. The shallowest played best for me with the largest I.D.. The one in the middle like the one in the middle. I normally like smaller I.D. mouthpieces. :?

I want to take a trip out west, but want to wait until late summer so I can drive on all of the mountain roads. That's my update.
