I've noticed that many tuba players, along with myself, are married to or dating flute players. What's the attraction?

Universal balance?

Mutual oxygen deprivation?

What gives?

Most probably because the relative frequence of female flute players is so much higher than of other instruments.
My guess,

What happens when a tuba player just doubles on flute?

No, wait, don't answer that.

I went to a prom in high school with a flute player once. A buddy of mine, tubist also, is married to a flutist.

Guilty as charges. I married a lovely young woman who is of the transverse wind persuasion. We are both convinced that our daughter should have an excellent lung capacity.

Met my flute playing wife in a community band. With 3 kids (Euphonium, French Horn and Flute) now the band is the one thing my wife and I do together for oursevles.
