What would you miss the most???

If you had to live in a different part of the country/world?? What is the one thing about where you live that would be truly irreplacable were you to move, or, what do you miss most about where you used to live??

My girlfriend grew up in California, and though we have no plans of moving out west, I have thought about what I would miss about New Jersey (other than my family, obviously). And for me, I think it's the pizza. I love a good slice of thin crust NY pizza, there's just nothing quite like it. Don't get me wrong, the deep-dish Chicago style pizza is very good, but for me, it's just not the same.

The mountain biking trails and community in the DC area. East coast rocky, rooty technical riding is the bomb.

I couldn't find anything to miss about NJ either , except for the pie. You can't get a real pie here in south Texas. No one has a clue, except those of us who appreciate fine cuisine. I don't have anything against Chicago, but a NY pie kicks ***.

If I had to leave Texas permanently, the sun would go out, the world would stop turning, and life as we know it would end. I would miss every single thing about it. To be a Texan is something no one comprehends, save for Texans. There is no other place like it on Earth. I'd be ashamed to be from anywhere else.

If I'm ever in your neck of the woods (which is possible, as my girlfriend has family in Texas), I'll be sure to bring you a pie or two, in exchange for some of that homemade beer.

Where in Texas? My 8 months in Texas were not memorable, beyond school. The Denton area leaves A LOT to be desired.

I really enjoyed my 5 day visit to San Antonio, but that's hardly living there.

Texas is big. I'm sure you could find someplace in TX you would hate to live, Doc.

I would miss Mobile Bay, Fly Creek, and my boats.
My slip in Fly Creek is my happy place and my neighbors and friends close by are the coolest people ever.

As one who's getting ready to move (packed the first bookshelf this past weekend ) I will miss the view that I have here in southern Colorado. Every direction that I look is a panoramic view of some of the most beautiful mountains. I haven't done much hiking/camping the last few years, but there are some wonderful trails in this area that I will miss.

With that said, I am looking forward to new things in North Dakota

Yep, no doubt about it. The rest of us just wonder in silent (ok, not so silent...I'm posting here, aren't I?) contemplation what it is about Texas that is so darn special.

Seriously...all this Texas love is making me substantially un-comfy...like Christmas at the relatives being stuck in the living room with the crazy uncle no one wants to talk to.

Just remember, I'll be up here in Oklahoma...squatting on ya.

What do I miss the most beyond the obvious (i.e., friends and family)? Trees and mild winters. Moving from Atlanta to eastern South Dakota forces one to change their wardrobe drastically. The number of sweaters I owned increased exponentially for the 2 years that I lived here.

In two days, I'm moving from SD to Bozeman, MT. When I leave here I'll miss the amazingly wide open spaces, as well as hunting pheasants and ducks during the fall. Truly an amazing site to see thousands upon thousands of animals migrating through your backyard.

I'm considering southeastern Oklahoma when I retire. I'd miss the band & church, but not the metroplex rat race & traffic. I grew up in Dallas and am ready to leave. 11 more years & adios, DFW!
