Re: IKEA?

Just went to the newly opened one in Cincinnati. Barely got out there before the wife went crazy. Easy to understand why though.

My experience with IKEA didn't go nearly as well. A Dresser. Simple, small, three drawer dresser. Parts that didn't fit properly, screws that didn't fit (and subsequently got stripped by the stupid little alan key), total nightmare. I had to epoxt the thing together in order for it to be useable....a 20 minute project ended up taking an entire day to fix. I will never buy any furniture from there again (plus, any couch or chair I have ever seen from IKEA was just so damned uncomfortable). I do like some of their kitchen gadgetry, though.Albertibass wrote:I hate IKEA. Well....it is a great idea, and when i saw the food outside the checkout i got really excited.
BUT.......
last summer i sold a lot of furniture that was old and just taking up too much space in my room. So after everything is gone, i got to IKEA to get a new desk and book shelf. Having to put that together was just more than i expected. It was like a large model and i was always paranoid that a piece was missing. In the end everything was fine. But next time, i will just go to Sears and bring it home in one piece (maybe two).
Yeah that reminds me. I am sitting in my desk chair i bought from ikea which after a day of walking around the store seemed comfortable. actually, it isn't at all i would recommend steering clear of their furniture. Unless of course you want to have a sore back or any other discomforts.I will never buy any furniture from there again (plus, any couch or chair I have ever seen from IKEA was just so damned uncomfortable). Make an exception for the Pöang chair. I don't know what "Pöang" means, but I've had one for a year and it's still very comfortable.Albertibass wrote:steering clear of their furniture. Unless of course you want to have a sore back or any other discomforts.
