Neti Pot

Post by bububassboner »

A little back round on me before my story. I have had chronic nasal congestion since I could remember. And as of late I have tried everything my doctor and I could think of including nasal steroids. After no results he suggested that I see a nose specialist about possible surgery. So after surfing the web about what could be wrong with my nose I found a youtube video about the neti pot (along with a lot of very funny videos). Since this was the only thing I haven't tried other than surgery I went and got myself one and tried it out. Boy this thing really works. This is the FIRST time in YEARS that I have been able to breathe through both sides of my nose. Now I could explain how this works but this video does a better job than I ever could,

Sorry for the rant but I think everyone should try this. This has saved me from going through some nasty surgery and I just wanted to share.

I didn't have a true neti pot, but I had to do the same thing on the direction of my specialist after I broke my nose in high school, after he set it, the bones healed, and the packing was removed, in order to keep all the sinus passages clear. It does work well.

Keep it absolutely clean.

The salt content must be as directed, as close as possible to isotonic, so no irritation develops.

The epiglottis stops the water from going down the back of your throat.
