Hmm ... last I checked, Catholic clergy (except, in rare cases, permanant deacons) were celibate. Perhaps he's a lay minister rather than a cleric?

well, not really all the time. Usually they take off the clerical clothes when they go to a bar. Seriously.

If he said "Basilica" it's the New Cathedral. He wouldn't be married and be a priest there. There are something like 10 married RC priests, and they were Episcopalian before converting. Grandfathered in, so to speak.

Not necessarily: Deacons (who are clerics but not priests) may or may not wear the collar: the determination is left to the bishop's discretion.

Though he could be a Permanent Deacon or a lay minister, both of whom can rise to fairly high administrative positions in the diocesan/archdiocesan heirarchy.

Not necessarily: could be a Poped Episcopalian, as eupher61 noted, or could be Permanent Deacon or lay minister.

Doesn't really matter, though: what matters is that he's got connections to thems that controls the purse strings.

I had a similar occurrence in my 2002 Honda CRV in the spring of 2003, Greg. I was the last car in a line stopped at a stoplight when a Dodge RAM plowed into me at about 40 mph. Fortunately my response was like yours--"Are you OK?'" to both him and the lady ahead of me whose car I got pushed into.

The initial estimate of $4000 damages when I took it in to have it repaired at the local Honda dealer's bodyshop turned out to be $6500 after they checked out the entire vehicle. In addition to a new rear door, bumper, and window the driver's seat frame was bent/broken along with the seat rails on the floor. More damage was discovered in the front that required replacement of the air conditioner condenser along with some fittings. They had to order parts so repairs weren't completed for several weeks.

A good body shop will do right by you, but there may still be covert damage. My throttle body sensor malfunctioned off and on for a couple of years after that until I had it replaced under warranty. Whether or not that was collateral damage I'll never know, but the timing of the problem is suspicious.

I'm also glad you're OK, Greg, and your Thor as well. Hope you get your wheels back quickly!
