If anything, I think that ending with the Cheetham might not be the best idea. It is a lovely piece, but in my eyes, I just don't see it as closer material.

If I were you I would start with the Cheetham and then end with Plog miniatures, but that's just me. Looks like a fun program!

valid, James, in all thought processes. Sounds like a great show.

Too bad about the harpsichord, though. Contrary to other thoughts, it's a great sound with tuba and cello. I may have missed or misread...is your thought to do it with ONLY cello, no keyboard instrument? That's a little strange, I must admit, and really doesn't keep the spirit of the original piece. At least the piano editions provide the bass to be played specifically, as well as having the chordal structures arranged.
