A New Twist on Beer

I recently spent a couple of weeks in the Canadaigua, NY area visiting my family. My brother and I travelled down the East Side of Seneca Lake to the Three Brothers Wineries and Estates for the sole purpose of visiting their Barley Yards Brewing company and sampling the first beer EVER to made with a wine influence, their Reisling Lager.

Before you go "yech" (which I must admit I did when I read the story in the Rochester paper) let me tell you this was one of the tastiest, smoothest, and most refreshing beers I have ever had. The taste was light and somewhat fruity. They mix it with their American style wheat beer and it clocks in at 4.5% alchohol.

If you are in the area and want a definite new twist on beer, stop in this place. It is well worth the trip. BTW, they only sell it by growlers. My brother and I polished off two in as many days. We also LOVED their IPA which clocks in at 7.2% and is the best IPA I have had in a while.
