Anyone else here trying it? I just downloaded it. Seems pretty fast compared to firefox. My grandma with a pen and paper can draw a website faster than IE.

Yes, got it last night. No problems so far and it's certainly faster than IE7 and Firefox3.

Ehh...

Firefox has not given me much grief, and I have many Add-Ons that are very useful to me in it. Chrome might be the minimalism of browsers, but I'll pass on it until some of my plug-ins get compatability.

Been using it most of today. Besides the plugin issues it doesn't seem significantly faster than either Firefox or IE on my pc. Side by side I can see a little speed gain over IE and Firefox, but I'm not sure it's enough to make it worth the effort of mentally switching to yet another browser.

I downloaded it a few hours ago after I read this thread, and I'm liking it a lot so far... It's very unobtrusive, and I was comfortable navigating it within 15 minutes. It seems like it may be a little faster, but these days we're getting a little into the law of diminishing returns, aren't we?

I can't stand IE, so I'm glad to have another option in my toolbox! Hopefully it'll prove to be a little more stable than I've found Safari to be. Only time will tell.

This browser looks very promising, but I'm holding off for awhile on account of all the big problems.http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bi ... &ctx=topic

I'm with you. I haven't tried Chrome yet, but I like my Firefox.

What I don't like about Safari is that it won't take an interrupt when it is loading a page (and I have dial-up, so taking an interrrupt is important, in terms of speed.) By interrupt I mean the page has loaded enough so that I can see where I want to click on to go to where I really want to be...and stoopid Safari will not go on until it has completely finished loading the first page; Firefox will stop where it is and start loading the newly-clicked page. But....I got spyware, or something, in my Firefox. I don't know if that is because I accepted auto-downloaded "updates," (prolly) or what, but I had to trash it and go back to Safari.

I'm thinking of re-downloading Firefox from Mozilla and "never" accepting any auto-updates again and see if that helps with the spyware thing. (only when I was using Firefox, pages, like my web email site, would not load because a "script" was running, supposedly on the site. The site says they run no scripts, and I believe them, because it does not happen except with Firefox.

You know why you get so much less spam over holidays? It's because all the unsuspecting people whose computers are being used to send it, are off line. If you have high-speed internet, you might not notice the interference, but with dial-up, well, I noticed.

I have downloaded Chrome and found it pretty nice to use except its lack of Google toolbar (strange shortcoming with Chrome coming from Google!) with therefore no 'auto fill' button for when I am completing forms. So I have to go back to Firefox whenever I want that facility.

The history facility is great - can even see the exact time a page was accessed. I also quite like the most accessed pages facility when opening a new tab.

Has anyone else tried Flock? I use it almost exclusively and really like it.

Just type your query or keywords into the url bar...bingo...google search. It seems a little weird at first but kudos to Google for saving screen real estate.

So far I like Chrome. I wish my Norton Identity Safe (auto-logins)worked with it but it seems at least a bit faster than IE and more importantly, it doesn't lock up the way IE seems to, especially while viewing video.
