A couple of Sousa favors?

Post by scottw »

Hi, All,
I've been asked to find the music for 2 of Sousa's works for use with one of my bands. One, Congress Hall March [1882], is desirable because every summer, we play a concert-in-the-park within the shadow of the landmark Congress Hall Hotel in Cape May, NJ. It would be quite nice to play this piece for the first time in Cape May in probably 100 years.
The second is one that I heard on a recording by Keith Brion with one of the British service bands, the Royal Artillery; I have never heard it before and really like it. It is called the Cubaland Suite [1925] and is really nice.
If anyone out there has it tucked away in their library, please dig it out and, #1, play it yourself and enjoy it, and #2, please send me a set? I would be much obliged, and will try to return the favor for anything you might be looking for.
Thanks,
Scottw :tuba:

A couple of years ago when I was trying to locate another obscure march, albeit by a different composer, I was directed to the West Point Academy music library.
