KC area, at least the MO side, is under $2.80 KS side about $2.85 or so. As of last night.

The cheapest gas in my area of Los Angeles (north San Fernando Valley) is about $3.40....not too bad for Southern California. I paid over $5/gal in Oceanside, CA in May. And to think, I'm only 21 but I remember seeing gas for $0.85/gal in Albuquerque, NM about 10 years ago while I was living there.

"Bill" not withstanding...why would you need a license to buy a large quantity of a perfectly legal product and store it on your private property? Hmmmm???

Saw a 2.98 in Kansas this weekend, know I saw something else lower at a truck stop but I can't remember what exactly. Haven't checked here at home yet.

quick thoughts on bloke's idea of filling a few drums of gas to keep on hand.
1) steel drums are better, gas is a solvent for many types of plastic drums.
2) there are regulations about storing more than certain volumes of gas, as it is quite hazardous in large quantities.
3) modern gas doesn't store that well, anything over a month with retail forumlations (cleaners etc.) and it will gum up the engine and cut into the performance substantially.

I have missed something again, obviously…
Since it sounded as if the intention was to buy a sizeable quantity of gasoline and store it, I figured a false name would be appropriate.
Maybe some states differ, but in these here parts, a license is needed to store any sort of fuel, and it's subject to inspections and other sorts of regulation.

$2.46 on the KS side of KC...which means right about $2.40 or a bit less on the MO side.
