I like Marches of the Armed Forces arr. by Michael Sweeney and published by Hal Leonard. It is written with the younger musicians in mind. Begins with the Marine's Hymn after an introduction, followed by The Caisson Song, Semper Paratus, The U.S. Air Force Song, and closing with Anchor's Aweigh.

I'll second this one. Did it last spring with my JH band. Came off very well.

Ditto. We keep "Marches of the Armed Forces" in our concert folder in addition to "Armed Forces Salute". "Marches of the Armed Forces" gets the job done when we only have a small band available. We've played it with as few as one flute, two clarinets, two saxophones, two trumpets, one horn, two trombones, and one tuba. It's an 'easy play' and doesn't require a symphonic band like "Armed Forces Salute" does.

I checked the Hal Leonard web site and apparently they've discontinued "Marches of the Armed Forces". Don't have a clue why because it's a very good 'young band' arrangement.

However, I found it here:

Better buy it before the publishers make it POP, too. Like they did with "Armed Forces Salute".

The fact that several of the Armed Forces medleys are now out of print has been a hot topic on the Yahoo Community Music Forum. Send me an email at danschultz@wowway.com" target="_blank" ... or give me a call at 812-457-2284
