I pay about 10 to 12 dollars per month, year 'round, for a high pressure sodium light in my front yard. That should count for something. I sometimes think about christmas lights.
If you want to do Christmas right, this is what you need to get.

We moved this year, so the best I could muster is 3 razorbacks two dear in the yard.

one family in my growing up years proudly set their tree in the front window. It's sort of hard to describe, but it was silver colored, had concentric rings of clear plastic or something instead of branches, and had white lights. That's it.

I had good intentions, but my decorations are in the attic. We accumulated extra stuff this year - my dad's & mom-in-law's and all that stuff is in front of the decorations. We decided it required too much effort to move everthing to get to them, and again to put them back again.
