... NOT and old Monte Python shtick but some interesting Civil War over-the-shoulder FAKES! I say 'fakes' because I don't want anyone to get the impression that these horns are reproductions. However, these horns play well and demonstrate the concept of the originals Fun!!

I've been told that it is because in those days the band led the soldiers while on the march, and the bells pointed backwards made sure the music was heard by the soldiers. The point of the music was to build esprit de corps and pump them up for the fight, so the soldiers were the audience.

I once tacked the parts together for a largist OTS Eb bass (stood about 4' high on the bell). My loving wife looked at it and, with the patient tone of one who is speaking to a small child, said "And exactly where to you intend to play that thing? "

After a visit to Gettysburg this past Summer, the horn I covet is the German Silver OTS Eb bass (Stratton I think) in one of the display cases. It's a beautiful horn, but you'd have to have your rear facing the audience to use it today. Some might say that's preferable for me anyway.

A tuba, a washboard, and a jew's harp. What beautiful music they made back then while sawing off people's leg with a rusty saw and a swig of moonshine.

The US is in a civil war right now. A war between people who value The eternal wisdom of God and His morals, and people who submit to the brainwashing of the university system and the media. What side are you on?

Things are going nuts in this country and around the world. The word "Gospel" means literally "Good News". We all need some of that these days. I'm glad so many people are getting more and more into seeking the truth in all things. Finding it in God's word is a blessing from Him. Proverbs, Proverbs, Proverbs.

When the seven trumpets sound and Jesus returns at the last possible moment, I intend to be playing the tuba. I figure His trumpets must cover the whole spectrum, and I'm sure God doesn't leave us out in His orchestration. It is going to be spectacular and I eagerly await His return.
