It is worth every penny. Just 10 years ago it would have cost six figures to have the kind of audio production power Logic can do. And on top of that, It would fill up a whole room full of hot noisy machines.

That's what I use, although I'd LOVE to have the $ and learning time for Logic. I can't really justify it, though, either.

I've edited some rehearsal recordings with Audacity with no real problems, and the noise removal plugin is pretty darn useful.

Goldwave is another one that I have been trying. About $50 or you can download a full-function demo.

More specifically, any Unix like system (Solaris, Linux, *-BSD, and OS-X fall in this catagory ) as well as a ready to run port to MS-Windows.

An if you don't like it all it cost was your time to try it out.

It's good to know that all that share-ware is out there for recording audio. Logic is best, but also quite expensive. It is well worth the bank. And don't be turned off by the complicated look of the screensets. It is actually quite easy to use. When I switched over from Digital Performer, I was up and running on Logic that day.

Hmm...

It's like that with any mixing board I've had to use. Well, maybe not easy enough for me to be somewhat proficient in a day's time, but they always look much more complicated than they really are.

Maybe if I can justify the expense (and maybe even have someone else foot the bill  ) I'll get my own copy of Logic.

300 bucks, as listed on the top of the page that you linked in your opening post for this thread.
:D

EDIT: Oh, or did you mean how much Winston could get it for? I have no idea.

Sorry, that was a quick post!
