The subject of this thread is more than correct. Marching band girls have instruments, batons, flagpoles and wooden rifles to assault you with.
Also small 3-5 piece bar bands with a chick singer are a potential minefield. One male player forms a relationship with the girl and you have a faction within the band that can rise up and smite you all.
I have hired many lady musicians. My advice to them was do the whole band or don't do any of them.

I hope to God that none of my old high school band colleagues ever read this article or ones like it. Their individual and collective egos are high enough already.
