I play with a couple of trombone players who use Rath. They seem to be VERY highly rated and from what I understand, Rath provide an excellent service. Each instrument is individual and customised to the player like a made-to-measure suit.

Is this one of those "tuning in the slide" Rath basses?

I've had my hands on a Rath double in-line horn before. It played everything I wanted without effort and was weel built. At the time, there was a company out of Boston that I believe had exclusive import rights in the U.S., but that may have changed.
I noticed that the price was up there with other fine brass instruments, and someday I might save enough to get one. (same issues with the Bach and double Hagmanns as listed earlier).
