Of course the standard caveat is YMMV, but I have used Opera on both of my PCs and all of my classroom computers (all PC). Been using it since release 3.62 and it has always been faster than IE, especially at my school. As with any browser, there are always idiosyncrasies coupled with each computer's idiosyncrasies.

I also use Firefox 3.x as an alternative when pages don't load properly on Opera. One thing that masticates my gluteus is that Scorch no longer works on the Opera 9.x releases that I use (including 9.64) nor Firefox 3.x

Odd. I have the latest 3.x Firefox and the Scorch works just fine. You may need to download something additional? Real Audio also works with this latest version.

I use the opera mini a bit on the crackberry. otherwise, no.

also, not only photobucket issues, but I have issues of printing off the web within opera--pdf's or otherwise. just wonky. facebook is quirky (ok, quirkier) on opera as well.
I like the speed dial aspect, and some other things, but I'm not convinced I'll keep it.

I used to use Opera on PC's in the 90's - much faster than the competition and had the nice option to not download images on slow dialup lines.
Opera was also the first browser to implement tabs. Opera also had special click and drag functions for forward, back, and refresh that have largely been replaced by extra mouse buttons. It was very innovative in its day. I just downloaded a copy of Opera for use now - when doing "family crest" research, I found that both IE and Firefox allowed the website to disable copy and paste functions, but Opera did not carry over that attribute.

I have taken a liking to Google Chrome, myself. To me, Opera and Firefox seem a little bloated and cluttered with all the plug-ins and toolbars. I prefer a much cleaner browser. But, I have to agree that Opera is good at what it does. I'm not even sure if Chrome works on Macs...

Well...never tried it at home, the latest versions of ie are not awful for my needs. and at work the IT Dept, doesn't believe in non-standard software, and to enforce that doesn't let folks be admins on thier desktops.
