God Bless America: Yankee's Game 1

Post by Matt G »

I was wondering if anyone was watching during the 7th inning stretch of this game. (I know 'bloke wasn't). Anyhow, a gentleman, who happened to be a two time all american football player from citadel and a met opera performer, cam out to sing "God Bless America".

This guy was great!

Awesome!

I don't remember his name and I can't find it as the MET site stinks.

Anyhow, I waso wondering if anyone knew this gentleman's name and if anyone else had seen this performance.

If you did see this, there was a lot of stuff that he did in his singing that is easily applied to the tuba. This guy had lower range presence that was profound. He probably could have gone without the microphone and still been heard in Yankee's Stadium.

Yes, I was also wondering exactly what his name was. Awesome performance, even if the Yankees did lose the game. :?

Ronan Tynan isn't a two-time All American NCAA footbal player.

This guy looked like an NFL offensive lineman. Probably about 6'4" 310lbs. He was of "African-American" heritage. Definitely not Ronan Tynan!

To Bill's credit: Ronan Tynan frequently sings at Yankee Stadium, particularly during the playoffs. He even sang later in that series, just not that game.
