Cell Phones: What is your current high end favorite?
Hi-
Just upgraded to a LG VU TV phone--amazing! Just wondering what is the current favorite high end phone for others (I know, the iPhone is great, but just about every app costs extra $$). Thanks.
Regards-

Just bought my wife the G1 from T-Mobile . It' really nifty and she loves the phone. T-Mobile is a freaking rip off artist though. http://www.t-mobileg1.com/" target="_blank
My work phone ( company ownes it ) is a Motorola i760. The most rugged damn cell pone I've ever had. Mine is 3+ years old and still going strong. It's been kicked across the parking lot, dropped dozens of times, been caked with red clay mud, dropped in water a couple of times ...... it can't be killed ! http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v/ind ... extnoice=1" target="_blank

Currently using a blackberry Curve, and I really like it. makes it very easy to keep up with email that is not work related. There are also lots of apps (many free) for all manner of communication/work/timewasting activity. I even saw an add for a strip poker game (for those with waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy to much time on thier hands).
Work phone is a motorola-nextel of some variety, and it's ok. We only use the phone and ppt features at work, none of the other stuff (that's why they put computers at our desks, and don't want us fiddling when we are supposed to be driving).

I have a Samsung Instinct and I really dig it. I do however have lust in my heart for the new Palm Pre.

I agree 100% with the elephant. I never had any desire for a smart phone until I saw the iPhone. I've had it for a month now, and there is nothing like it. And once the new OS is released next week, it will be even better.
Do not be put off by the price tags on the apps. Many, many terrific apps are free, and many others cost $0.99. I only have two apps I paid a considerable amount for, one was a game I play all the time ($4.99) and the other is the MLB app ( which I use every day.) Almost all of my other apps were freebies.
Wade...I'm just curious, what apps do you use a lot?? Any you recommend??

I suppose I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to cell phones. I have a RAZR (my third one), and all I use it for is talking, and taking a picture if I happen to see something cool.

I consider the iPhone to be high-tech, not high-end.
This is both high-tech and high-end.

To paraphrase the excellent Bill Cosby routine about Noah's Ark:
Riiigghht...what's a cell phone?
Dave (what will science have for our grandchildren?) Thomas
