iPhone 3gs

Post by Tubadork »

Hey,
does anyone know if the new iPhone does turn by turn directions with vioce prompts, like a GPS?
My old Blackberry (8800) does it with Telenav and it's saved my butt MANY times.

If it doesn't, I'm sure there's an App that does.

I haven't seen one yet and most of my friends have iPhones. But if you know of one let me know.

I've heard of this before:

I don't have an iPhone and have never seen this in action. Just heard of the app before...

My LG Voyager came with turn by turn navigation on it (although I have yet to use it because I have a GPS)...Not an iPhone, but I have the touch-screen and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Ok,
so I still don't see any voice turn by turn directions. My friends that have iPhones all have a gps device. I would rather not be looking at my phone for every turn.

or keep my blackberry. But iPhones are kinda sexy, I just can't justify buying one if it doesn't meet my basic needs. It's a shame I can't play trombone on my blackberry.

According to macrumors.com, TomTom is releasing an app with turn by turn directions next week, when the new OS releases. So no, there's no turn by turn on the iPhone. Wait a week, and that will change, for both the 3G and 3GS.

I was making a little joke with my Tom Tom comment and the links. But no one got it. I suck. Rats.
I didn't click the links, because I have already read up on the update quite a bit. Guess I should have, or I wouldn't have ruined your joke. 'Tis I who suck.

I'm as big of a Mac homer as they come, but I gave up my iPhone for a BlackBerry. I got to try a BB through an ATT-employee friend of mine, and I dropped the iPhone. If you want details why, PM me.

I'm pretty sure you'll miss your CrackBerry. Trombone app or not.

I still have my 1st gen iPhone sitting on a shelf, and if I lost/broke my BB and had to switch back, I'd probably cry.

This is the first that I've seen it. It's going to be the first iPhone app for which I've paid any money.
