OK, so this is TOTALLY off topic, and yes I know there is a place for that on the board, BUT, I think everyone needs a little levity at points in the year. Here Goes:

If you could do anything BUT be a musician, what would your dream job be. Really, Cabana Boy at the Playboy Mansion is fun, but be as realistic as possible. Actually that whole Cabana Boy things is pretty cool....anyway:

I would love to be a Park ranger in the Adirondacks, preferably in the Stillwater/Big Moose area.

-Automotive engineer

If I had to pick anything other than be a musician, I would probably be a professional BUM... That is, I would sit around and do nothing all day.

A professional Uillean Bagpiper.

An astronaut.

An entomologist.

I want to someday be a priest or a king. Tuba and music are just temporary things until I can get on my feet.

I fantasize about being lots of things:

• Carpenter.
  
  Architect.
  
  Landscape designer.
  
  Private pilot.
  
  Restaurateur (though this may not count, because my SPECIFIC fantasy is to have a joint that plays, using the same players but on alternate nights, polka, dixieland, and swing music -- with ME on the tuba!)
  
  Wealthy benefactor to worthy causes.

I tried to be a priest.After a year in a Benedictine monastery they asked
me to leave.I guess they wanted more of a team player.

Being a pilot would be too exciting shooting landings with a visual astig-

Playing bass could pay better but it is stimulating and I am not in a position to do anybody any real damage.Guess I better stick with that.

Besides, as a musical instrument repairman, dealer, and tuba player par excellance, why would you ever want to retire? If your avocation is your vocation, there's never any reason to stop doing it.

My sentiments 'zactly! The only thing that should force retirement is the inability to work any more.

However, I'ld STILL like to go to the moon. My wife seconds that emotion!

Right now, and for a while, I want to do something that allows me to paddle around in a sea kayak somewhere in the NW looking at and schmoozing with the wildlife. Underwater would be ok, too.

The Irish bagpipes would wear off after I figured them out.

I'm continually surprised at the number of guys who seem to really want that when they find out how much $$ an engineer makes, as opposed to Joe who is only kidding. (I think.)
