Re: Qwerty and piano

I've seen in some software a QWERTY keyboard being able to be used as a MIDI controller in the abscence of an actual MIDI keyboard. Maybe you could use them both at the same time?
Are the keys as "clicky" as I hear in some of the youtube demo videos, or is that an artifact of the particular patch? I have collected a few cheap "mini-keyboards" over the years (some of them are Korgs) and some were great, some were crap. This one looks pretty good, and it being USB powered is a big plus! I was looking for something current and simple for quick MIDI inputs in Finale - looks like a very possible solution...Carroll wrote:I use a Korg Nano Key... same width as my MacBook, 3.5 inches deep, 1/2 inch thick.
I actually really want one of those...just seems really cool...David Richoux wrote:Steiner EVI1000, anyone?
Mine is a very early version (pre-MIDI) and the only thing I don't like about it is that the fingering structure somehow seemed "backwards" or "reversed" when going through the scales - having to rotate the big switch to change half octaves up or down was not very logical to me (as a horn player - if I was learning from scratch it probably would have been OK.) I think Yamaha did a bit better with their Sax substitute, but that was much later on in the game.Tuba Guy wrote:I actually really want one of those...just seems really cool...David Richoux wrote:Steiner EVI1000, anyone?
