As it probably is fake, it's not the same type of scams I'm used to seeing. Usually it has something to do with YOU sending them money in exchange for you winning the Nigerian lottery or some BS like that.
This person wants to send YOU money in exchange for you providing a service to his "son".
Very very strange...

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

They use the same approximate line enough that you can just feed a sentence into a web search, and get the story on the scam.

I got one of these a couple years ago, but for a performance, not lessons, and for benefit of wife not son if I remember right. The phrase "she is my only wife and I love her very much" sticks in my mind ... ah, here we go:

I agree with the elephant--anyone who falls for stuff like this deserves to be taken. People need to stop being so damn greedy and just plain DUMB. Repeat after me: NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FREE--NOTHING!

Re: Latest "Nigerian" Scam?
I have on occasion advertised on Craigslist. I always get one or two foreign offers who want me to teach their students three to five times a week, and they will prepay.
I remember the first time I got one thinking "who would want to take 5 tuba lessons a week?" until I read further and confirmed it was a scam.
Reminds me of the time I sold my old Volvo 240 on Craigslist. Some polite chap in England wanted me to ship the car over there, as it was exactly what he had been searching for all these years.
Speaking of scams, my father-in-law placed an ad in the personals on CL. You should have seen some of the replies he got

(noting that sports, sax, guitar, and music are mutually exclusive)

I'd be more worried if it brought special happiness
