Anybody got advice on PDA's. I've been thinking about getting one and have a good lead on an Ipaq 2495 that seems like a good deal but as I've been out of the PDA know for a number of years just thought I'd check with you guys here to see what's up in the mobile electronic world. I don't want a Blackberry or Iphone or anything like that as I don't really want to pay the extra fees on my phone bill so those are out. I like the idea of having one with Wifi capabilities but its not an absolute neccesity.
So what says the TNFJ

For me, the Nokia n810 is exactly what I was looking for (and it came in today, but to my house and I'm at college). I'll give you a more detailed report when I get it

Agreed! I'm typing from the full web browser on
mine now. I've never had o cooler toy! And not a terrible price for toy and cell service. We switched from verizon and our new bill is lower with 2 iPhones than it was with one data phone and one regular phone!

Why not try am iPod touch? All the features of an iPhone, minus the phone. It fits all of your requirements.

Here's one vote for the "plain, old-fashioned" Blackberry with the full keyboard. Not as much fun stuff, but for syncing with a computer calendar and for email, it still doesn't get much better.

I would definitly be interested in the Iphone but it isn't offered through my cell provider, plus I'm guessing that it would require the extra data plan like the Blackberry and trying to avoid that. May have to look at the Ipod touch though. Any thoughts on any of the other offerings out there? Again, it doesn't need to be wifi capable.

Just closed a deal on a the aformentioned Ipaq for less than $50 very lightly used. I pick it up tomorrow morning so I'll give a report in a couple of days if anybody is interested. Thanks for the advice and suggestions.

I've had my new (used) Ipaq for a few days now and so far so good. It syncs with my computer, which I could never get my Palm Treo to do. The wifi works well and I generally like this thing for what I need. So far all is good.
