McMaster-Carr has a low-carbon .162" wire available. Problem is that you have to buy a whole coil of it.
I think that wire in the Mirafone rim is 4mm (very close to .160"). I have one of those wires that's in excellent shape... no rust. I'll send it to you if you want it.
Can I find 5/32" soft steel wire for sale anywhere...??
