I celebrated by playing my tuba in the street in front of my house at midnight. A rough and tough looking guy came out of the house next door and watched me play for a while. He then came up to me and asked if I was in high school. He told me he was from Texas, and that he played tuba when he was in high school. He said just then was the first time he'd ever heard the tuba sound good, told me "Props to you man, keep it up" and wished me a happy new year. What a great way to start the year!

-30 it will have to wait for another warmer time!

As another man who has taken 50 years to find "my woman", I know how you feel. I wish I could have had a kiss for the New Year, but she is currently over 7000 miles away in China - but I can't wait to return to my fiancé, Mei very soon and hope 2010 will at last see us married!
