Anyone here using Vonage?
I am thinking about going Voice Over IP. The cost looks like it is way lower. Anyone here using Vonage or other services?

No personal experience, since I cannot get a fast enough network connection out here in the sticks. 28.8kbps on a line that should do 40+. No DSL, no cable (not that I'd let them in my house) ISDN is too expensive, and satellite has problems on the uplink.
That said. Everything I've heard is good. No you need a stable connection. So yo need backup power as does your ISP. If it's the phone company, they probably do, if it's cable probably not.
Kind of like going cellular only, which around here their systems are likely to go down with the power. Not as bad if it's a localized outage and you cn reach another tower, but again here in the sticks you're often luck to reach any tower.
