Tuba cake

Finally getting around to sharing this...

I got married in October of last year, which was right around my birthday as well. As a birthday present/surprise for our rehearsal dinner, my wife hired someone to make a special tuba cake for the occasion! I have better pictures to post later, but here is one from the baker's Web site:

And it tasted as good as it looked! :)

WOW! We need details. How in the heck did anyone do that with cake?

The bell up a few inches past the leadpipe was the actual cake. The other half of the bell and the bottom bow were rice krispy treats, and the smaller parts were formed from wire. Then the whole thing was covered in fondant (like a thick/sheet icing to make it smooth) and painted silver. Probably about 18" tall in all.
