Wade, hie thee on down to thy local auto parts place and look for something called "vinyl dye"--there are several brands and it isn't cheap.

But it works--it bonds chemically to plastics and vinyl. It doesn't rub off and it's not paint. You can change the color of a vinyl top to just about any color.

After it's had a chance to ripen, I'd probably finish up with a UV-protectant wax.

Hope this helps.

You can probably buy an aftermarket (cheap) top from JC Whitney for not much more that the materials to dye the old top. That way, you will have the 'correct' (and new) top when you go to sell the Jeep.

Ya know, when I was delivering pizzas, the nearby Autozone would order a few for lunch every once in a while. For payment, the manager would go to the safe and pull out EXACT CHANGE. No tip.

People who never tipped were doctors, rich people (one had a kimono under plexiglas in the foyer and a new harp in the next room!), poor people who could barely afford pizza anyway, and that Autozone guy.
