In Canada, we seem to be facing an offshoot of this behaviour with a disturbing trend. We have had problems with Tuba Gangs, specifically Inter-Gang violence between those believing they are the True Tubaists, their weapon of choice being the standard Tuba, and a breakaway group who ...use Sousaphones, claiming the Tuba is obsolete.

Fortunately, weather in most of the country keeps the streets clear of these hooligans due to frozen lips and mouthpieces.

These gangs go at each other with the standard Tubaists venturing only as far as the Atonal, while the Sousaphonists counterattack with the ammunition of their philosophical leader, Arnold Schönberg, using twelve-tones. The resulting cacophony injures, for the most part, the combatants themselves, collateral damage being WPWT, (Wrong Place, Wrong Time), bystanders, many of whom seem to enter into a trance-like state, which, when followed up, often lead to chronic Jazz Club attendance.

For the rest of the story go to the Annals of Improbable Research (AIR) page on Facebook:

Worse yet, remember those gangs who used to rip the hood ornament off a Mercedes?
The tuba gangs are far worse. Once a member can claim to have mastered the Vaughan Williams concerto (high Ab and all), they desecrate vintage Vanagons by ripping the massive VW logo off the front, and wear them around their neck.

Worse yet, when they master the pedal range, they can flatten said Vanagons.

That's why Toyota is recalling all those pedals...
