Protec Sousy Gig bag

Post by jamsav »

Hey guys - any experience with the Protec Deluxe Sousaphone gig bag ? I am trying to figure out how large a bell can be accomodated and neither Protec or retailers have been able to tell me - I do have one retailer ( who is a sponsor ) trying to get an answer to me - I need to take better care of an old King w/ a 26" bell. The only user comments mentioned how tight the interior bell cover was , and that his efforts to get the bell in there, caused tearing.
The exterior dimension is 28 inches - seems best suited for a 24 inch bell ...dunno..any thoughts ???

I bought a Protec Sousa bag for my King 1250 - with a 26" bell. The fit is snug, but it fits.

YMMV: I bought this bag in 1991. Don't imagine they've changed their design much, but ...
